(sacred object)
A small stone statuette of the repentant Saint Lotta (also known as Carlotte) in an embroidered pouch. Although it is rendered in a stylized fashion, it is delicatedly carved and the detailing is refined. You can almost make out the beatific smile on the Saint's face, and the reverse face of the statuette has an etched prayer. This particular charm is a token of forgiveness or symbol of penance often carried by pilgrims.
Saint Lotta was a Torvarian saint famous for meditating in the wilderness. Finding the Divine in the sublime surroundings of raw nature was seen as controversial, especially compared to the followers of the rationalist Saint Willem. She was burned as a heretic in her time, but was later canonized.
