NPC ~ NOVACS

A Mysterious Stranger

Ht: 5'9 | Wt: 160 | Eyes: blue | Hair: black | Age:36

APPEARANCE

Novacs seems to be in his early thirties. He is handsome, athletic, and well-groomed, with a neatly trimmed moustache. He wears high-quality travelling clothes, sturdy boots, and a black, tailored studded leather jerkin. At his waist is a silver-pommeled dagger, and at his side he carries a horseman's sabre.

Novacs smiles easily, but his eyes are steely and always alert. Despite his urbane and gentlemanly manner, one gets the impression that he's been around, and knows how to handle himself.

PROFILE

Very little is known about the man calling himself Novacs. Initially, he presented himself as a courier carrying dispatches, but later dropped that facade. First impressions suggested that he might have been a fixer or a money man, but it's now clear that he is more than that, and should not to be underestimated. He is versatile, exceedingly competent, highly motivated, and extremely dangerous.

Money seemed to be no object to Novacs. He is manipulative and persuasive, and readily employs others to fight his battles for him. He secured the services of Mirko, Ryld, and Iskra, and then later lured Jerzy and his gang back to the inn with the promise of a gold shipment. In addition, he was apparently awaiting a rendezvous with a squad of Vosnyians disguised as Phinskas until they were killed and replaced by Dark Elves. It is unclear what his relationship with these men was.

Novacs favours misdirection over direct confrontation, but he also seems to be a very capable combatant. When he needs to, he moves with surprising swiftness, stealth, and sure-footed athleticism.

He also seems to have some experience dealing with arcane matters, and is versed enough in Faerie language to persuade an ancient kobold captive to cooperate with him, and knew precisely what questions to ask the creature. After this, he did not hesitate to end the ancient, pathetic creature's life.

In spite of his scheming, Novacs insists that he is 'one of the good guys' on a mission of honour. He upheld his bargain with the Ryld and his companions, but was hesitant to reveal more of his true goals.
